There are many ways to spend the holidays. Some people enjoy going on vacation, relaxing, having holiday parties, or just spending time with family and friends. It’s safe to say that everyone enjoys the time off if their blessed enough to do so. At Agape, we like to celebrate together in the house of the Lord.
It all started Thanksgiving Eve with a service here at Agape. The service was held on Wednesday, November 21st. Pastor Dylisaly, from Prince of Peace Ministries in Mountain Home, preached on the topic “Hold On Until He Blesses You”. The message came from Genesis 32: 22-32.
Once the season of thanksgiving was over, it was time to move on to the season of Giving. Every year on Christmas Day, we allow our Agape Kingdom Kids to take the spotlight. After our regular pre-sermon activities like praise and worship and greetings, our teenagers did a Christmas play about the story of Adam & Eve. Then the rest of the youth performed a Spy themed Christmas play. At the end of the service, we did a special sendoff for one our Kingdom Kids who is soon to leave for the military.
Later on that day at 4:00 pm, Pastor Laura from Church for Now” headed on a more traditional Christmas service here at Agape for the community. The service consisted of praise and worship led by Monica Jones and family from Love and Unity Church of God in Christ. Then there was a great pictorial on the story of Jesus’s birth commentated by Pastor Laura. Pastors from all over the Treasure Valley joined together to say a few words to the community. Then one of the youth from Love & Unity did a mime dance followed by a solo by our praise team leader Jameca. It was a great day of celebration of the birth of Jesus.
