A Warm Winter

Winters can get very cold in Idaho, and unfortunately there are many people in our community who go all winter long without the proper attire. Whether homeless or just needing a little help, everyone deserves to be warm during the winter. This is why Agape in Action strives to serve the community through our food and clothes pantry. Every month we open up our doors to the community on the last Saturday of the month. During the holiday season, we are open 2 Saturdays in November and December.

More open days requires additional supplies, and we are so blessed to have been able to partner with the Navy in their partnership with local businesses in our community to do a coat drive. The coat drive took place on November 11th at 4 different locations across the Treasure Valley.

-Walmart at 5001 N Ten Mile Rd in Meridian

-Walmart at 4051 E Fairview Ave in Meridian

-Ali Barber 208 at 6414 W Fairview Ave in Boise

-Bronco Motors at 9250 W Fairview Ave in Boise

The US Navy & AIA volunteers setup boxes at each of these locations and collected new and gently used winter items from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at these various locations. $2028.03 worth of ONLY winter coats were collected! We received 84 new coats and 35 used coats, and lots of other winter items such as coats, hats, gloves, blankets, and socks.

Very special thanks goes to:

-Our very own Chief Murphy, US Navy for organizing this event

-Our community partners (walmart, Ali Barber, Bronco Motors, 101.1 FM)

-The Agape Media

-All of our volunteers

-All of the community members that donated

If you missed the coat drive, you can still donate your items because the clothes bank is monthly. The drop off location is at Agape Christian Worship Center, 1001 Orchard St, Boise ID 83705.
